Gotcha, a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) company focused on sustainable micro-transportation, announced it is now the first shared mobility company in the U.S. to provide three customizable products: dockless bike share, 100%-electric ride share vehicles, and electric scooters. The company has expanded its footprint and offerings over the past decade and has built its integrated portfolio from the ground-up.
This announcement comes on the heels of Gotcha’s rapid expansion and growth with university and city partners across the country. The company currently has more than 30 systems in place across the U.S., with plans to add 10 new cities and universities to its roster in the next six months and expand five systems to include scooters. In total, Gotcha provides more than 1 million rides a year and reaches 1.3 million unique customers.
Since December of 2016, Gotcha has partnered with MSouth Equity Partners – a $2B private equity fund based in Atlanta – to support Gotcha’s growing footprint and mobility service offerings. The firm has also invested more capital in Gotcha, underscoring its commitment to the mobility company as it becomes the country’s first to offer three sustainable products.
U.S. bike share alone has seen brisk growth with 35 million trips taken in 2017, 25% more than in 2016. Since 2010, there has been a total of 123 million trips nationally.1 Ride share systems – and most recently scooter share systems – have gained in popularity and are now becoming an integral part of last-mile transportation across the U.S.
Gotcha is the only mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) company offering three sustainable microtransit products – 100%-electric ride share, customized dockless bike share, and electric scooters – through a proprietary app-based platform. Gotcha helps communities lead happier, more productive lives through alternative forms of transportation specifically designed for each market served. Gotcha currently operates 30+ systems on college campuses across the U.S. and in cities such as Burlington (VT), Sarasota (FL), and Toledo (OH). Gotcha is headquartered in Charleston, SC with an office in Los Angeles. For more information, visit www.ridegotcha.com
